That’s right, as promised last week (due to our inability to stay awake), we did a double review for this week’s post. Let’s start with the film that was intended for last week’s review.

“I Saw The Devil” is a Korean thriller film featuring Min-sik Choi as the main character. This film takes you through a tension-filled journey of a serial killer and a secret agent’s thirst for revenge. It’s comprised of a lot of really good action/fight scenes and also has its fair share of gory blood-filled scenes. Unlike many films that can be categorized under this particular genre, the acting is extremely good and is actually able to get the audience emotionally invested in the character—something that is definitely not an easy task to accomplish.

What can be said about “The Midnight Meat Train” that can’t be said about meats on trains? It’s bloody, gritty, and not very sanitary. The premise of this film is pretty straight forward—there’s a guy with weapons killing people on the train. This particular film definitely had the potential to be pretty awesome, however, though it was entertaining, there were a lot of moments where a viewer can definitely ask, “Why am I watching this?” Not to mention, though this was definitely shot in LA, it’s somehow supposed to take place in NYC? Seriously, if you’re going to try to accomplish that, at least try to make it a little less obvious that it was shot in Burbank, CA.

Make sure to watch the videos to find out our in-depth thoughts on these films.

Soju&Pisco vs...

Sorry guys! We had every intent of doing a review last night, but Soju beat us out for the night. We passed out. We promise to do a double review for next week, it will include the film we scheduled for this week, as well as the scheduled review for 12/10.

Preview for this week's review

Tell us ~*Polish*~ zombie number 1 and Jake Orrall don’t look alike so we can call you liars!

“Grapes of Death” is the film we watched this week. A French zombie flick from 1978, if you’re into that kind of ish, watch it! Seriously. This movie was pretty damn good for the time it was shot in, pretty grotesque and mildly violent. Everything you need in a good film of this genre. Like we mention, make sure to have some wine handy and a baguette for munching. We were sans baguette, and extremely sad. Don’t make the same mistake. Seriously. 15 minutes in and we wanted baguettes. Enjoy!!

Preview for this week's review.

Just a sneak peek, get ready folks, this week’s review is going to be intense, this we promise you.

This is the first installment of our weekly film reviews—this week we watched Ip Man and Ip Man 2. In all honesty, these “based on a true story” films were definitely entertaining, great imagery, and very well choreographed.

Watch the video for our in-depth reviews, as well as, our thai food review—all food reviews will eventually be hosted on kimchiandceviche.

Coming soon

Coming soon
